Just to give you a bit of history about our company, as you probably know, the eQuit brand has been well-established for many years (since 2013 believe it or not) starting with our first shop in Astley Bridge, then opening more stores in Horwich, Darwen, Blackburn, Manchester, Lancaster and so on. Some worked very well, and some didn't.

We created a website to support the shops in around 2016 with no real intention to focus on selling online (because we knew our prices weren't as competitive as they needed to be for the online marketplace) but selling online wasn't our main goal; we just wanted to concentrate on selling through our shops.

Around the same time, we set up a new company (EQ Wholesale) selling the same products that we did in our shops, but directly to other businesses via the internet. This grew so much so that we needed to move our offices and storage facilities from Blackburn Road to a warehouse in Darwen in 2019.

In 2020 Covid took its grip on the world, and as a consequence it wiped out all of our direct sales via our shops, and had an impact on our wholesale business too, however we were still selling quite a lot of products via wholesale to other companies concentrating on online sales only.

We set up a free same-day delivery service whilst the shops had to stay closed, so that our customers could still purchase products from us without the need to leave their house. This had an instant take-up and grew into a new standalone business. So much so that as shops started to open again, most of our customers preferred to buy from us this way, so one by one we closed our retail shops, with the last one in Astley Bridge closing in 2022.

We re-evaluated our wholesale business at the same time, and started to concentrate on fulfilment of other business' products (as well as direct wholesale) which again proved to work very well. Then, UK Vape Scene came on board which was a game-changer for us. Please find below some Q & A's which will hopefully answer all your questions.

What is UK Vape Scene?

A vaping website selling online since 2015 and using us as a fulfilment partner since 2022, initially to distribute the Ultimate brand for them but eventually everything they sold.

Why are we merging with them and taking their name instead of eQuit?

eQuit is a local brand best known for its same-day delivery service in and around the Greater Manchester/Lancashire area. UK Vape Scene sells throughout the UK and beyond, and it's a company that we know very well so we entered into negotiations in 2023 for a possible merger, but in the end (to cut a very long story short) we bought it instead.

What's in this merger for you as a loyal customer?

A lower price for the same products you purchase from eQuit. Because UK Vape Scene's buying power is significantly better than eQuit's, you'll see a significant saving in the day-to-day products you purchase from us. For example, 5 Ultimate liquids for £9.99 on UK Vape Scene as opposed to 3 bottles for £12.99 with eQuit.

What's in this merger for us as a business?

It gives us the opportunity to wholly own and continue to grow what is already a well-established brand, which in turn gives you much better prices and more choice.

Why didn't we tell you about UK Vape Scene before?

We couldn't! As part of our fulfilment agreement there was an “NDA” (non-disclosure agreement) in place which meant that neither company could talk about the other or what was going on, but now we can.

Do I need to create a new account with UK Vape Scene?

No. We'll do it for you and transfer your details across, however you will need to create your own secure password. We'll be sending you an email to let you know how to do this, unless you've already created a UK Vape Scene account beforehand (you can log in/sign up at this link). Also, to keep everything clean and streamlined we haven't transferred any of your previous order history over, but we'll still be able to access it from our end if you need help.

Will I still be able to get same-day delivery?

Yes, same-day delivery will still be available! With the heavily reduced prices on your products, we can't offer this service for free any more so there will be a cost for same-day delivery, but in the majority of cases it will still work out considerably cheaper than eQuit. If you're not in a desperate rush, other delivery options will also be available, including a free option. Click & Collect will still be available too. As we continue to grow this business we'll be looking into ways in which we can make this even better for you and have the option of weekend deliveries too.

Will I still be able to buy from eQuit and call the same numbers?

All new orders from Tuesday 14th May onwards will have to be via UK Vape Scene. Yes, you will still be able to call the same numbers but we'll be answering it as UK Vape Scene, not eQuit. Our team will also continue to grow, but rest assured the same people you know and (hopefully) love will still be here too!

What happens to the warranty on products purchased via eQuit?

Nothing, we'll honour the warranty on everything for the same length of time.
